Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, where your energy and precision will drive the seamless flow of goods through our clients Morehead City warehouse. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of inventory, ensure accurate order fulfillment, and maintain efficient warehouse operations. Your proactive approach will help us deliver exceptional service to our customers while supporting a safe and organized work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management systems, logistics, and distribution processes within a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Accurately receive incoming shipments by inspecting, verifying, and recording deliveries using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS). Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders with precision to meet customer specifications. Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely to load and unload trucks and move inventory within the warehouse. Maintain stock levels through effective stocking, order picking, and inventory replenishment in accordance with warehouse distribution protocols. Utilize warehouse management systems such as AS400 or MRP software to track inventory movements and update stock records efficiently. Ensure proper packaging techniques are followed to prevent damage during transit while adhering to safety standards. Conduct regular audits of stock levels, perform cycle counts, and assist in maintaining an organized warehouse environment for optimal workflow. Skills Proven experience in warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and stock management. Certification or experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment a plus Familiarity with warehouse management systems or MRP software for inventory tracking. Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes and best practices for order picking & packing. Basic math skills for calculating weights, measurements, and quantities accurately. Ability to operate RF scanners and other digital tools to streamline inventory procedures. Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in shipping documentation and inventory records.
