Chiefly responsible for performing operations on the dock, cooler, cold storage freezer, and other areas in and around the plant as required. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is required to operate powered industrial trucks on the dock and other areas of the plant, to include outside when necessary. Essential Job Functions/Duties Below is a brief outline of the essential job functions and duties, which may be adjusted by management from time to time. 1. Carry out shipping and receiving activities. 2. Ensure paperwork associated with shipping and receiving is filled out and routed to personnel responsible for filing and final disposition. 3. Performs assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable company policies and government regulations. 4. Ensure housekeeping is maintained in dock office, freezer, and areas of the plant where shipping and receiving operations take place. 5. Maintain positive communications with and provide required support to production personnel to ensure continuity of plan operations. 6. Perform additional duties including Administrative Tasks and Physical Labor as necessary. 7. Ensure fresh product is transferred to freezer on a daily basis as required. 8. Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies. 9. Continuous improvement mindset (always question processes and eliminate wastes). 10. Participate in and continually work toward learning and practicing LEAN manufacturing concepts. Qualifications & Education Requirements 1. High school graduate or equivalent required, but relevant work experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Preferred Skills 1. Prior experience in shipping and receiving/dock operations preferred, but not required. 2. Prior experience operating powered industrial trucks. 3. Good oral and written communication skills. 4. Good analytical and problem solving skills 5. Good computer skills. Physical/Mental Requirements 1. Will primarily work on a loading dock and cold storage freezer; must be able to transition from wet and cold to dry and dusty environments without issue. 2. Must be able to frequently move/transport products weighing 60 pounds or more. 3. Must be analytical and think critically. 4. Must be self-motivated. 5. Must be able to follow given instructions and provide results. 6. Must be a self-starter. 7. Must possess and present a strong work ethic. 8. Must have reliable transportation! 9.
