Shipping and Receiving Packager

MadgeTech is seeking a shipping and receiving packager. In this role you will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are properly packaged, labeled, and shipped out to customers or stored in inventory.

Shipping and Receiving Packager Job Summary As a shipping and receiving packager, you will be responsible for preparing items for shipment or storage. Your duties will include packaging products, labeling packages with shipping information, inspecting items for damage or defects, and maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Responsibilities:

• Properly package items according to company standards, ensuring that products are protected during transit.
• Label packages with shipping information, including recipient address, shipping method, and tracking numbers.
• Inspect items for damage, defects, or discrepancies before packaging and shipping.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including incoming shipments and items sent out for delivery.
• Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely shipment of orders.
• Prepare shipping documents, such as packing slips and bills of lading, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
• Communicate with internal teams, such as the warehouse team and customer service, to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with shipping software and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity for packaging and labeling tasks.
