Pharmacy Clerk Job Description This role supports the pharmacy by preparing, packing, and shipping products in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures. The pharmacy clerk helps maintain efficient daily operations by handling packaging, labeling, shipping logistics, and basic inventory-related tasks while ensuring accuracy, safety, and timely delivery. Responsibilities Properly pack products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safe and compliant shipment. Perform daily box preparation work, including assembling and organizing shipping materials. Create and correct shipping labels as needed to ensure accurate and timely delivery. Prepare shipping labels for international shipments in line with shipping guidelines and requirements. Bring prepared packages to mail and courier services as needed for dispatch. Receive incoming box orders and store them appropriately in designated areas. Learn and use functions related to commercial courier and shipping systems to support daily operations. Monitor and maintain adequate stock of ice bricks to support appropriate packaging of daily shipments. Empty trash as needed to help maintain a clean and organized work area. Assemble shipping boxes and ensure they are ready for packing and shipment. Stand for extended periods of time while performing packing and shipping tasks. Move boxes and other materials safely while bending and stretching as required by the role. Lift items weighing up to 25 pounds in a safe and controlled manner. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to move boxes and materials while bending and stretching. Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds. Attention to detail when packing products and creating shipping labels. Willingness to learn and use commercial courier and shipping systems. Reliability in following Standard Operating Procedures and safety guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Pharmacy Technician Certification or registration preferred, but not required. Previous experience in shipping, packaging, or a pharmacy environment is beneficial. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Comfort working with international shipping labels and documentation. Flexibility to work overtime when needed. Work Environment This position is based within a pharmacy setting and focuses on packaging and shipping operations. The standard schedule runs Sunday through Thursday, with shift hours from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and the ability to work overtime when needed. The role requires extended periods of standing, frequent bending and stretching, and regular lifting of boxes and materials up to 25 pounds. The environment includes working with shipping systems, assembling boxes, handling ice bricks for temperature-sensitive shipments, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Montville, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
