Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Gate Clerk to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. The Gate Clerk plays a vital role in managing inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining smooth entry and exit processes at the facility. This position requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and excellent communication abilities. The ideal candidate will support efficient inventory management, shipping logistics, and compliance with trade regulations, contributing to seamless warehouse distribution and order fulfillment. Responsibilities Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments using Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP systems such as AS400. Manage shipping & receiving processes, including loading, unloading, and stocking inventory with equipment like pallet jacks, reach trucks, or forklifts. Utilize RF scanners, MRPs, and other inventory management software to track stock levels accurately. Perform data entry related to shipment records, inventory updates, and order processing. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper order picking & packing, order fulfillment, and stock replenishment. Monitor compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards during cross-border shipments. Maintain accurate records of shipments in accordance with company policies and shipping logistics procedures. Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparing items for shipment according to specifications. Support warehouse operations by facilitating load & unload activities and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries related to shipments or deliveries at the gate. Qualifications Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is preferred. Proficiency in Warehouse Management System (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems like AS400, and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, logistics, order picking & packing, and international trade regulations. Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts (certification preferred). Strong data entry skills with attention to detail; familiarity with RF scanners is a plus. Basic math skills for inventory counting and documentation accuracy. Excellent communication skills for customer service interactions at the gate. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards. Previous warehouse experience involving stock management or e-commerce fulfillment is advantageous.
