Job Description
The Shipping Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing daily outbound shipments to customers in accordance with customer releases, schedules, and shipping requirements. This role ensures accurate documentation, labeling, ASN creation, and freight coordination while supporting customer communication and shipment accuracy. The Shipping Specialist plays a critical role in on‑time customer delivery performance and compliance with automotive customer shipping standards at Creative Liquid Coatings, Inc. Roles and Responsibilities Customer Releases & Shipment Coordination Review customer releases and determine daily shipment requirements for assigned customers. Coordinate and schedule trucks and freight carriers as required. Notify customers (including GM and Toyota) of shipment shortages or issues. Communicate shipment details and instructions with truck drivers and carriers. Handle weekly customer releases for GM and Ford, including count verification and ASN processing. Shipping Documentation & ASN Processing Create Bills of Lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, and NAFTA documentation as required. Create load sheets, shipping labels, and ASNs in accordance with customer requirements. Use ASN checking systems to validate outgoing shipments. Print and manage customer‑specific labels. Ensure shipping documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with customer standards. Systems, Materials, & Supplies Maintain accurate shipment records and supporting documentation. Order shipping supplies including labels, ribbon, and shrink wrap. Ensure ERP and shipping system entries are accurate and timely. Maintain organized shipping files and records. Team Support & Operations Prioritize and distribute daily shipping work assignments as needed. Assist with other shipping or plant positions when required. Participate in production scheduling communication with internal departments and suppliers. Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in 5S activities. Maintain housekeeping standards in personal and shared workspaces. Training, Safety & Compliance Participate in training and educational programs as assigned. Assist in identifying training needs. Observe and comply with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations. Follow all company policies and safety procedures. Skill and Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Previous shipping, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to read, interpret, and apply customer shipping requirements and documentation. Strong attention to detail and record‑keeping accuracy. Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills. Ability to communicate professionally with customers, carriers, and internal teams. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Work Environment Work performed in both office and manufacturing environments. Exposure to noise, airborne particles, fumes, and industrial activity. Occasional exposure to chemicals and proximity to moving equipment. Required use of PPE in designated warehouse and production areas. Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, and grasping. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
