SUMMARY The Shipping Technician is responsible for coordinating the shipment of goods for a given customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Must interface with Customer Service Representative, Area Managers, Quality, Logistics carrier to meet the customer expectations This person supports the Shipping Area and is primarily responsible for identifying, counting, labeling and preparing goods for regular and expedited shipments. In order to be successful in this role, the Shipping Coordinator must ensure the shipment of goods meets the customer's specification in quantity, quality, labeling and packaging by the required delivery date. Confirm customer's shipping specifications.
For example:
o Corvette requires loading by sequence number. o Ensure proper skid is utilized. o Ensure labeling is correct. Ensure generation of all pick tickets, packing slips, and bill of ladings accurately reflect shipment. Ensure advanced shipping notices (ASN) are sent to customer in a timely manner. Ensure all customer packaging requirements are adhered to for shipments. Ensure Forklift safety checks are completed daily. Load and unload product on to trucks by Forklift. Ensure all materials received and shipped on interplant shipments are scanned and recorded in computer system and interplant packing slip accompanies each shipment. Manage pallet inventory. Ensure all goods are received or transferred to storage location in computer system. Responsible for inventory accuracy. 5S in areas of responsibilities - Main aisle, Railspur, Area 1751, Area 1900. Cycle Counting of raw materials. Adhere to standard work.
