RECEIVING CLERK LOCATION
Erie, PA
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Coordinate and process incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining efficient workflow in the shipping & receiving department. This role includes but is not limited to properly receiving shipments into the facility, stocking materials, preparing orders, verifying shipping details, and working closely with carriers to ensure timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work independent of supervisor when necessary. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and process shipments, ensuring accuracy in labeling and documentation. Verify shipping details, including addresses, quantities, and packaging requirements. Communicate with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments. Maintain records of outgoing shipments and update shipping logs. Assist in inventory control and warehouse organization. Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies. Operate shipping equipment, such as label printers and scales. Receive all incoming product. Identify errors and damages to product. Perform other warehouse-related tasks as needed. May handle hazardous waste.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Person must be able to read and clearly see and read small numbers on the labels. Person must be able to comprehend a bill of lading and it terminology. Fork lift driving is a plus; on the unload shift it is required. Warehouse experience is required. 3 years' work experience required. Must be quick and effective in selecting the correct product Must be physically able to go up and down the steps numerous times per day Must be able to do basic counting without a calculator Must be able to use a calculator when necessary Must be able to consistently lift 25 pounds and 35 pound as needed periodically Must be able to communicate well with truckers as necessary. EAR99 Import/Export compliance experience preferred.
