Full Job Description Role Description:
The Receiving Associate is responsible for the receiving, and storage of product received from suppliers. This individual must comply with the company's established receiving practices which include the movement of product in an efficient, effective, and safe manner. They will ensure Receiving Reports accurately account for product received and are turned into the procurement department promptly for processing. This individual will report directly to the Warehouse Manager.General Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for receiving of product from all LBM vendors. Responsible for the accuracy of receiving paperwork by comparing packing lists to company purchase orders. Ensure product is not damaged upon receipt. Ensure product counts are verified Work with warehouse manager / procurement to resolve any discrepancies relating to LBM. Responsible for accuracy of inventory. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job. Load customers in the yard as assigned using specified pick tickets Correct and bring to the attention of the warehouse manager any unsafe physical plant, yard, or storage condition. Perform basic yard housekeeping duties such as leveling lumber units and picking up trash in the yard and related storage facility areas. Unload and return customer returned merchandise to pre-designated storage area Other duties as assigned by managementSupervisory Responsibilities:
None Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong communication and organizational skills Detail oriented Ability to take direction and follow instructions Current forklift certification or willingness to become forklift certified Ability to work independently as well as part of a teamPhysical Requirements:
- Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time
- Exposure to extreme temperatures on occasion
- Bending or stooping
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Previous experience verifying appropriate material handling safety procedures are followed for receiving deliveries
