About Us Northern Liberties Mailbox Store is a locally owned neighborhood business providing private mailbox services, package receiving, shipping, printing, and business support services. Beyond the required operating tasks, we believe in supporting and being a part of the Northern Liberties community. We've built long-term relationships with our customers, and we know our regulars by name. We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a small business environment, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to become a dependable part of our team and community. Position Overview This position begins as a part-time role (20-25 hours per week) and is expected to transition into a full-time position in early September. We are looking for someone interested in building a long-term career with us. This is an active, hands-on job that combines physical work, organization, customer service, and attention to detail. Every day we receive several hundred packages that must be accurately processed, sorted, and organized so our customers can quickly receive their deliveries. Primary Responsibilities Package & Mail Processing Receive and process hundreds of incoming packages and pieces of mail each day. This requires focus and accuracy, to ensure every package gets in the hands of the customer who ordered it. Organize mail and packages by mailbox number and customer name. Lift, move, and organize packages of varying sizes throughout the day. Shipping & Customer Service Assist customers with domestic and international shipping. Recommend appropriate shipping options based on customer needs. Accept package drop-offs. Answer customer questions and requests in person, over the phone, and by email. Provide basic printing, copying, scanning, and document services. Occasional packing of customer shipments. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Is highly organized and detail-oriented. Is friendly and enjoys interacting with the public. Enjoys keeping things orderly and notices when something is out of place. Is comfortable performing physical work, including frequent bending, lifting, and moving packages throughout the day. Learns new systems quickly and follows procedures carefully. Communicates professionally with customers and coworkers. Is dependable, punctual, and takes ownership of their work. Is comfortable asking questions and committed to doing things correctly. Has basic computer skills and can accurately enter information. Previous shipping or retail experience is helpful but not required. We are happy to train the right person. Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking. Repeated bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to move greater than 50 pounds using provided equipment and/or support. Ability to work efficiently during busy periods. Compensation & Benefits Starting pay: $20.00 per hour Opportunities for wage increases as training and responsibilities expand. While we are not currently able to offer benefits such as paid time off or health insurance, we are committed to growing the business and hope to provide additional benefits to long-term employees in the future. Schedule Part-Time (Immediate) 20-25 hours per week 3-4 weekday shifts (approximately 10:30 AM-2:30 PM or 2:00 PM-6:00 PM)
