Position Summary:
The Store Clerk is responsible for assisting customers with their shipping, mailing, and packaging needs while ensuring compliance with DHL shipping standards and policies. This role requires strong attention to detail, accurate data entry, and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers with shipment inquiries, packaging, and tracking needs Accurately process shipments using systems and software Verify shipment documentation for compliance with policies and international shipping regulations Package items securely, applying correct labeling, dimensions, and weight entry Maintain detailed and organized shipment records and logs Provide rate quotes and explain shipping options clearly to customers Troubleshoot tracking or shipment issues and escalate when necessary Keep workstations, packing materials, and store areas neat and organized Follow safety, compliance, and handling procedures, including hazardous materials guidelines Support store operations as needed (inventory, supplies, etc.)
Qualifications:
Previous customer service, retail, or clerical experience preferred Familiarity with shipping or logistics is a plus (training provided) Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Comfortable using computer systems, scanners, and shipping software Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Training & Development:
All new clerks will complete structured training, including: DHL system and portal usage Packaging and labeling best practices Compliance and international shipping regulations Customer service excellence strategies Safety and handling of restricted/hazardous items
