Job Description
Summary Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; verifying and recording outgoing merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. Will also need to assist with assembling stamps. Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities Examine contents and compare with records to verify accuracy of outgoing shipment. Prepare documents, such as shipping orders to route materials. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes. Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using postage meter. Read and follow specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble products in an accurate and timely fashion. Assemble stamps, ink inkpads, and label packaging. Prepare parts for shrink wrapping. Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as nonconformance to specifications. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ability to apply such knowledge to practical situations. Must be able to operate various office equipment to include a computer, calculator and copier. Requires an attention to detail Must be able to perform basic math equations. Experience and Education Previous shipping, warehouse, or assembly experience preferred.
