Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Specialist I to support receiving operations and overall material flow within our warehouse environment. This role is primarily responsible for receiving incoming materials, processing receipts in the system, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring materials are properly organized and transferred within the facility. The Warehouse Specialist I plays a critical role in warehouse operations and will remain fully utilized across receiving, inventory control, transfer orders, and general warehouse activities. While the primary focus of the position is receiving, the role will also provide support to picking and shipping functions as needed to ensure efficient and continuous warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive incoming material deliveries and verify shipments against packing slips and purchase orders. Process receipts in the ERP or warehouse management system to ensure accurate inventory records. Inspect incoming materials for damage, accuracy, and compliance with order requirements. Label, organize, and store incoming inventory in designated warehouse locations. Coordinate and manage transfer orders between site locations. Process RMAs and returned materials, ensuring proper documentation and system updates.
Inventory Control & Accuracy:
Perform inventory corrections and adjustments to maintain accurate stock levels. Record and process inventory transactions within ERP and warehouse systems. Conduct cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory counts. Maintain organized storage locations to support efficient material flow and retrieval. Monitor inventory discrepancies and communicate issues to supervisors. Pick materials for work orders supporting machines currently on the production floor. Support shipping activities including preparing materials and staging outgoing shipments when needed. Assist with organizing warehouse inventory and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Ensure materials are properly staged and available to support production and operational needs. Collaboration & Compliance Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment. Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, production teams, and other departments regarding inventory and material needs. Support warehouse operations and follow direction from supervisors to meet operational goals. Education High School Diploma or equivalent (vocational training a plus) Experience & Skills Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse, shipping, or picking role preferred Basic experience operating pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic computer skills; ability to learn ERP or inventory software Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong communication skills, verbal and written Familiarity with safety standards and use of personal protective equipment Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sarasota, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
