Job Summary:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, verifying inventory, preparing shipping documentation, receiving materials, and ensuring accurate and timely movement of goods. This position works closely with warehouse personnel, carriers, suppliers, and customers to maintain efficient shipping and receiving operations.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare, process, and verify outbound shipments accurately and efficiently. Receive inbound shipments and verify quantities, products, and condition against purchase orders and packing slips. Generate and maintain shipping labels, Bills of Lading (BOL), customs documents, and other shipping records. Schedule carrier pickups and deliveries and coordinate transportation activities. Track inbound and outbound shipments and provide shipment status updates as needed. Maintain shipping and receiving records and resolve discrepancies, shortages, damages, or delivery issues. Operate shipping systems, barcode scanners, printers, and related equipment. Obtain freight quotes, determine freight classifications, and select appropriate carriers. Process FedEx, UPS, LTL, and other carrier shipments, including domestic and international shipments. Assist with inventory control, stock verification, and warehouse organization. Follow all company safety procedures, shipping regulations, and carrier requirements. Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, drivers, vendors, customers, and management.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred. Experience with LTL freight, FedEx, UPS, and shipping platforms preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of shipping documentation, freight terms, inventory control, and warehouse operations. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving ability. Forklift certification may be preferred or required.
Supervision Received:
Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to the supervisor.

Stooping:
Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually more than 50 lbs.
Standing :
Standing for sustained periods at a time.
Walking:
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks often for sustained periods of time. Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
