Shipping and Receiving Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving Shipments:

Unload incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or defects.

Shipping Coordination:

Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate for timely delivery.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and assist in stock management to ensure timely replenishment.

Documentation:

Ensure proper completion of shipping and receiving paperwork, including packing lists, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.

Safety Compliance:

Follow safety regulations and company policies during all shipping and receiving activities, maintaining a safe working environment.

Equipment Operation:

Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required for shipping and receiving tasks.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with team members and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and resolve any issues that arise during the shipping and receiving process.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipments and inventory.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and operate forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and other departments.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.

Working Conditions:

• This position primarily operates in a steel fabrication facility/yard, which may involve exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures.

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
