  • Fort Worth, TX TranSpec Fasteners is looking for a Shipping/Receiving Specialist to work onsite in Fort Worth, reporting to the Warehouse Manager.
The Shipping/Receiving Specialist is primarily responsible for inventory control, incoming and outgoing counting of product, pulling of stock, shipping and scheduling of orders, and maintenance of inventory locations and warehouse workstations. This position is an integral part of our organization and is expected to perform with high accuracy and thoughtful execution in a quality-driven, improvement-focused environment. Here's what you will be doing: Procedural Compliance Identify material accurately by comparing order documents to product tag part #, trace, and description. Read and apply all special order notes. Document and log the completion of processes. Follow defined practices and procedures, work instructions, operating procedures, company policy. Read, review, and apply order specific written instructions. Outputs subject to internal and external audit. Material Handling Maintain the status, identification, and location of product. Visually check product while handling and counting to identify damage or foreign objects. Clean as you go and maintain clean workspaces. Package, process, and label product in accordance with order and stock-specific requirements. Package all product as appropriate to prevent damage. Counting Hand count product or use digital counting scales where appropriate. Select appropriate counting method and scale for item weight and type. Promptly notify the manager of any counting discrepancies. Receiving Review incoming shipments for damage and report damage to the carrier and manager. Retrieve pallets using a forklift and pallet jack. Promptly notify Accounting of any COD orders received. Follow order prioritization as communicated. Document incoming count on count sheets and enter in MRP. Promptly notify the manager of any counting discrepancies. Count out product samples for Quality Assurance inspection. Scheduling & Stocking Repackage received materials for stocking or for scheduled orders. Maintain product traceability and identification by labeling all bags and boxes of product. Record stock location. Stock Pulls Prioritize and process stock pull orders. Retrieve material from inventory. Count out order quantities. Label, package, and route pulled quantity per order requirements. Perform and record inventory balance counts. Shipping Ship orders scheduled for the current day and all orders available to ship early. Process international orders with all necessary documentation and information. Where product is hot in and out, confirm and count shipment quantity. Follow order specific shipment instructions, including packaging material and labeling requirements. Interface with various customer portals for FOB origin orders. Package and label in accordance with freight carrier, DOT, and customer requirements, including Hazmat. Equipment & Facilities Maintenance Clean as you go throughout all work areas. Maintain the organization of inventory storage locations and order processing workstations. Deep clean inventory storage and order processing workstations as scheduled and directed. Perform and document maintenance of Warehouse department equipment. Promptly communicate equipment deficiencies to management. Other Duties Pick-up and delivery orders locally in company vehicle. Move inventory and consolidate inventory locations when required. Other duties as assigned. Here's what you need to bring with you: 1-year minimum warehouse or manufacturing experience. Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift and the ability to be certified through TranSpec. Must have a valid government issued driver's license. Safe driving record as reflected in State driving records (will run DMV check). Ability to achieve Hazmat certification (CFR 49) within one year of employment. Attention to detail and discipline for matching of alphanumeric codes, descriptions, and following of written instructions. Ability to read and apply written instructions, long form, and on a per-order basis. Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively for short periods Ability to work with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, accurate data entry, and confirm information in emails. Positive attitude and ability to work well with a team of associates. Ability to meet all of the following vision requirements with or without corrective lenses (per customer requirements):
  • Corrected visual acuity shall be, at a minimum, Snellen 20/40, Jaeger 1 or equivalent with depth perception.
  • Near Vision
  • Snellen 14/18 (20/25), Jaeger 2 at not less than 12 inches.
  • Normal color perception.
