GENERAL CLERK 2 - GENERAL CLERK 3 - PPRD
Shipping and Receiving Clerk 08-01360
Who We Are:
With almost 70 years of experience as an independent research, development, and evaluation laboratory for fuels and lubricants, we are well qualified to tackle challenges affecting marine vessels and locomotives, trucks and automobiles, and even hand-held power tools. Role:
Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, possess good organization skill, knowledge of basic office procedures and follow safety policies. Communicate effectively with co-workers, staff and project managers. Work with minimal supervision. Work well with others and act on own initiative to carry out routine task and procedure in timely manner.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Package and ship hazardous material by FedEx ground or air service. Prepare sample kits for independent field contractors and terminal personnel for collecting and shipping fuel samples. Process outbound shipments using the federal Express Software System. Communicate shipping, login and sample issues to the project leaders and administrative staff. Unpack and process incoming shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous material. Electronically log in fuel samples to the laboratory information system to initiate electronic laboratory work orders. Assist in maintaining inventory of shipping supplies on hand. Process pictures of samples for specific projects. Operate and conduct minor maintenance on the department's bottle washer.
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. 2-4 years: Related work experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse environment. Knowledge of shipping hazardous materials preferred but not required. General computer experience is required. Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel is preferred but not required. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
