Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt, verification, storage, and shipment of materials and finished products. This role ensures inventory is properly handled, documented, and processed to support efficient operations, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company procedures. The hours for this position will be Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, with the possibility of working 8am-5pm if needed. Occasional Saturdays will also be required. Key Responsibilities The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs a variety of shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory support functions. This position requires certification and competent operation of material handling equipment, attention to detail in order fulfillment, and the ability to self-manage workload to meet daily shipping and operational needs. The role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, facility organization, and on-time order fulfillment. Complete required forklift certification and training and safely operate all three types of lift equipment (Forklift, Reach Truck, and Order Selector) competently Accurately pull sales orders, work orders, and transfer orders according to established procedures Understand and effectively use RF scanner (RF gun) functions, including transferring items between locations Stack, label, and properly store received materials and products Unload incoming deliveries, verify contents, sign for shipments, and report discrepancies or damage Distribute received materials to appropriate departments or storage locations Assist with validating, packing, and preparing orders for shipment, including UPS and LTL shipments (with supervision as needed) Assist in loading trucks for outbound shipments as required Understand primary fittings and distinguish between different product lines Participate in physical year-end inventory counts and support ongoing inventory accuracy through daily practices Maintain a clean, neat, and organized shipping, receiving, and warehouse environment Self-manage workload to meet shipping schedules, timelines, and operational priorities Follow all established safety standards, work procedures, and company policies at all times Participate in the implementation of process improvements and operational efficiencies as needed Work collaboratively and contribute positively within a team environment Provide flexible support in other operational or warehouse areas as required
Job Requirements Education & Certificates:
High School Diploma or equivalency
Technical Skills & Experience:
1-3 years experience using RF gun and warehouse systems 1 year of experience safely operating a variety of Powered Industrial Trucks Competencies Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively understand and carry out written and verbal instructions related to shipping, receiving, safety, and operational procedures Mathematics Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using all units of measure Proficiency in working with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages to ensure accuracy in inventory counts, order fulfillment, and shipping documentation Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and adapt to situations where limited standardization exists Ability to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Demonstrates sound judgment and problem-solving skills in fast-paced operational environments Key Relationships Frequently interacts with all Distribution Center employees, at all levels. Working Conditions Employee may be exposed to a moderate level of hazards in the work environment, such as chemicals, commercial products, exposure to potential toxins, moving machinery, repetitive motion, excessive noise, powered industrial vehicle fork/reach/ bucket lift/other. May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Employee may be required to perform a moderate level of specific tasks such as lifting up to 70 lbs, frequent changes in body movements, and working at heights of up to 20 feet . Employee may experience progressive degrees of changing factors in the work process (changing work priorities, deadlines, accuracy, quotas, conflicting demands) . Employee will be required to spend the majority of their shift bending, stretching, walking, and standing.
