We are currently seeking a person who identifies strongly with our mission and core values to join our team in McChord, WA as a Receiving Clerk. This is an ideal role for someone who has 1-2 years receiving experience , excellent organizational planning, and project management skills . Prior military experience is also desirable!
Purpose:
Responsible for performing warehouse and inventory duties at a Base Supply Center (BSC). Receives, inspects, verifies, labels, and prepares merchandise for sale. Loads and unloads truck for delivery. Supports customer service, merchandising, facility maintenance, and cashiering when needed.
Responsibilities:
Receive merchandise, verify quantities, sign for delivery, and record receipt of merchandise on delivery log. Inspect product, verify product description and quantities against purchase order and pack slip. Create missing pack slip, when not accompanied with shipment. Assure product is in undamaged and in sellable retail packaging. Documents on pack slip any damaged merchandise, missed-shipped items or any other problems and take required action to solve the problem with shipper or vendor. Update quantities in computer system to accept receipt of merchandise. Date and sign pack slip and file with daily receiving log. Break packages down into sellable units of measure. Correctly identify and assign bar codes into the item record. Prepare backordered items for shipment or pickup as indicated and place stock items in designated area. Run daily reports. Operates forklift and pallet jack and responsible for unloading freight. May pack customer purchases in bags or boxes and assist with loading in customer vehicle. Depending on location deliver orders to customers in company vehicle while follows any guidelines, procedures or restrictions based on store policy. Performs routine inspections on forklift and pallet jack and schedules maintenance or repairs as needed. May prepare monthly reports that track vehicle condition, mileage and expenses. Ability to identify problems; provide corrective actions and solutions for routine issues. Represents Lighthouse and AbilityOne in a positive manner and maintains professional appearance. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. 1-2 years receiving, inventory or warehouse experience. Forklift certification preferred. Valid drivers license. Must maintain a good driving record with no major violations and remain insurable with Lighthouse auto insurance. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs using safe lifting technics throughout shift Ability to perform work assignments requiring repetitive motions such as working on concrete floors that may be uneven; standing, stooping, bending, and stretching throughout shift. Must be able to safely use warehouse equipment, climb ladders and unload delivery vehicles. Must be able to communicate in a pleasant and professional manner to co-workers, management and customers. Must be fluent in English, written and spoken. Ability to use a computer/keyboarding. Working knowledge of MS Office. Must be able to use Excel spreadsheets. Excellent organizational planning, and project management skills. Must be able to use phone, fax and copier. Knowledge of inventory management. Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy.
