Shipping & Receiving Assistant Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Assistant supports the shipping and receiving operations within the organization. This position is critical in ensuring efficient movement and accurate handling of materials throughout the facility.
Essential Functions:
Stage products between receiving and shipping departments Prepare and package shipments; create shipping notices Confirm incoming shipments against packing lists and perform basic computer entries Monitor inventory movement and assist with annual physical inventory counts Communicate with other departments regarding shipments Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move pallets Maintain cleanliness in shipping and storage areas Assist in unloading trucks Follow instructions and duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications & Competencies:
High school diploma required Minimum 1 year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving Forklift experience preferred Strong communication skills and positive attitude Good time management and organizational skills Detail oriented and self-motivated Basic computer proficiency and ability to read/write English Math skills; ability to carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs Safety conscious
Work Environment:
Operates in an office and warehouse environment, using standard office equipment (computer, phone, etc.) Physical role requiring lifting, bending, and standing as necessary
Position Details:
Full-time 1st shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Pay:
$20.00 per hour No travel expected
