American Fence Company, Inc. is seeking a Retail Sales professional to support our fencing and perimeter security business. In this role, you'll greet customers, understand project needs, recommend fencing materials, gates, and hardware, and prepare accurate quotes and invoices. You'll maintain product displays, process orders, and coordinate with yard, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure timely fulfillment. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable in a construction-oriented retail environment with both counter and phone sales responsibilities. Responsibilities Greet and assist walk-in and phone customers in a retail construction environment Assess customer fencing, gate, and security needs and recommend appropriate products Prepare and present accurate quotes, invoices, and sales orders Process payments and enter orders into the company system Coordinate with yard, fabrication, and installation teams to schedule fulfillment Maintain organized, well-stocked, and safe sales floor and counter displays Provide basic product knowledge, measurements, and material takeoffs Follow safety procedures and company policies in all customer and yard interactions Build lasting relationships with residential, commercial, and industrial customers Support team goals by meeting individual sales and service targets Required Skills Customer service Retail or counter sales Construction materials knowledge Basic fencing and gate product knowledge Quoting and invoicing Point-of-sale (POS) systems Order entry and documentation Inventory management basics Measurement and material takeoff Safety practices in construction/yard environments
