Warehouse Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible to ensure the proper handling of our customers' equipment and/or belongings. Our customers range from household goods to commercial/industrial, and distribution projects. The expectations of this position require a physical hands-on approach within the warehouses and the office. This position reports directly to the General Manager however takes direction from local dispatch.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing daily warehousing activities, scheduling warehouse workforce, and working closely with local dispatch in order to accomplish daily workload. Training and supervising the warehouse staff. Coordinating all dock activity, assigning warehouse employees to appropriate tasks and monitoring progress throughout the day and assisting crew, as required, to complete tasks. Loading and unloading of trucks Planning for the peak season workloads and hiring additional staff as necessary with the General Manager's approval. Ensuring that the warehouse workforce receives any specialized training required of the job. Developing a spirit of cooperation and understanding among the work group. Coordinating the warehouse activity with the office staff by: Acknowledging all inbound/outbound shipments with local dispatch and/or customer service. Completing paperwork to include Riders and other piece count verifications to assure accuracy prior to returning documents. Properly identifying all items stored within the building General Requirements Must be legally authorized to work in the US. Must pass a criminal background check. Must pass a drug test. High School Diploma or GED required. Physical Requirements Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally. Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently. Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Must possess the strength, stamina, and mobility for heavy physical work. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Experience & Knowledge Previous warehouse experience preferred. Knowledge of the moving industry and DOT regulations. Forklift certification required or ability to complete forklift training and operate machinery safely per company protocol. Skills & Abilities Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
