Job Description

Job Summary:
The Steel Yard Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all operations within the steelyard, including production, logistics, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and personnel supervision.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage the steelyard team to ensure high performance and collaboration. Build a strong, team-oriented culture emphasizing communication, accountability, and professional development. Enforce safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and training to ensure a safe work environment. Maintain structured office management practices, including inventory tracking, documentation, schedules, and workflow organization to support operational efficiency. Facilitate employee feedback, resolve conflicts, participate in the disciplinary process, and implement recognition initiatives to drive engagement and performance. Approve time and attendance, generate operational reports, and maintain accurate records in payroll and HR systems. Serve as the primary point of contact for steelyard operations. Maintain ongoing communication with leadership and employees to ensure transparency and alignment with company goals. Oversee the Car Rack, meet monthly production goals, as well as overseeing refrigerant removal, and manage safety and environmental hazards in this area
Skills:
Proven ability to manage a team and develop strong interpersonal working relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of management experience in an industrial, production, or logistics environment.
Education:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other office management tools Associates degree or higher preferred
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
