Job Description
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operations Manager will ensure that all product purchasing, customer orders, and warehouse activities are fulfilled efficiently and profitably.Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day workflow of the warehouse, scheduling and organizing personnel
- Hires and trains new warehouse employees.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Maintains accurate employee timesheets and ensures that they are turned into payroll on time.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day responsibilities of purchasing, order fulfillment, warehousing, shipping, receiving, safety, scheduling and personnel management
- Ensures efficient warehouse operations through collaboration and coordination with other departments.
- Ensures that employees have a safe working environment and that products are stored safely
- Provides and promotes quality customer service - call customers, track usage, solve problems
- Creates accurate inventory, estimates, purchase orders, item receipts, sales orders, and invoicing in QuickBooks
- Ensures efficient and affordable shipping of products to customers
- Completes all required management reports.
- Executes maintenance activities when needed.
- Researches, identifies, and presents new ideas to improve warehouse operations.
- Attends and actively participates in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Orders supplies as needed
- Monitors accounts receivable and collect on past due accounts
- Keeps company equipment - forklifts, pallet jacks, slitters, trucks, tools, etc. - in good working condition
- Monitors and update product pricing.
- Store and create SDS/TDS sheets.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.
- Thorough understanding of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- At least five years of related experience required; supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the warehouse.
