Port St. Lucie, FL Direct and assist in planning of all warehouse activity to meet company, customer, state, and federal standards. Ensures the accuracy and quality of work meets Souto Foods' high standards and is a strategic strength for future growth. Direct and assist in planning of all warehouse activity to meet company, customer, state, and federal standards. Ensures the accuracy and quality of work meets Import Mex's high standards and is a strategic strength for future growth.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for planning and oversight of small, medium, and large-scale projects involving both shipping and receiving of product 2. Collaborates with relevant business personnel to drive implementation and support for warehouse management system (WMS) 3. Coordinates general warehouse activities including inventory control, receiving, storage, shipping, and sanitation 4. Assists in formulating the labor budget for all department activities, provides input for the capital budget process 5. Provides input in establishing warehouse procedures, layouts and equipment requirements and standards 6. Works with category manager, sales reps and customers to ensure quality and standards are met. 7. Partners with MDI (Parent Company) to ensure compliance to meet all regulatory and customer requirements that support Food Safety and Quality plans by allocating resources for continually improving the SQF system 8. Coordinates and participates in special projects as assigned by leadership 9. Stays abreast of industry and professional trends for continuous supply chain management 10. Directs and assists in the identification of new methods and/or policies to improve operations 11. Works in conjunction with IT leadership in the development of systems to improve and measure performance and efficiencies 12. Provides direction in staffing with human resources to maximize efficiency and productivity through selection and training 13. Formulates and executes warehouse strategies that align with corporate strategies and metrics 14. Builds and mentors a team of employees that are aware of and support the overall mission 15. Creates a safe work environment through training, positive reinforcement, and employee engagement 16. Works with Human Resources on career development and cross-training opportunities for warehouse personnel
Qualifications:
Bi-lingual required (English/Spanish) Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience 5-7 years progressive warehouse management experience Strong communication and analytical skills, and knowledge of logistics Dimensions Oversees approximately 2 salaried shift supervisors and 35+ warehouse employees Operating expenses in excess of $1 million Generated revenue in excess of $41 million Total annual budgeted sales $47 million Serves on task forces, committees, and other related work groups #LI-VP1
