WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE DOING

The Distribution Manager position will oversee the warehouse office and staff, be responsible for maintaining proper safety procedures, proper maintenance of the facility and equipment, ensuring that we accurately distribute quality building materials on a predictable schedule that fit our customer's needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(not limited to) Daily communication with all workers to ensure all the objectives for the day are met in a timely mannerUse the current reports to make management decisions and changes to staff and routes Productivity within Warehouse (orders shipped, errors, transactions, etc.)Drivers performance (miles per gallon, idle time %, etc.) Material Handling for incoming materials

  • Oversee that incoming materials have been properly received and put away in preparation for the picking crewShipping
  • to ensure that all daily orders have been routed and shippedReview delivery routes annually with the Transportation Director and Director of DistributionReview and maintain all reports that are your responsibilityMaintain appropriate staffing based on our seasonal business
  • Work with Human Resources and Distribution Management for approvalsEnsure good communication between Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales, Credit and all other Warehouses to ensure that customers commitments have been satisfied Maintain a positive and clean work environment in conjunction with maintaining all safety proceduresResponsible for maintenance and upkeep of equipment, buildings and groundsEnsure that all processes and procedures are followed to ensure Customer satisfactionRespond promptly to all email and phone messages from your Managers and other DepartmentsPerform Monthly and Yearly Performance reviews on all employeesRegular communication with the Regional Distribution Manager and Director of DistributionAll other tasks as assigned by Management (see attachment)
A DISTRIBUTION MANAGER WILL POSSESS AND DEMONSTRATE

Assist with "Plan B" when the warehouse loses connectivityAssist with the Warehouse Training Support TeamAssist with Will CallsOversee/Take care of Inventory Balance Report (WLRB)(depends on if you have a support person)Oversee/Take care of Transfer Exception Report (WTRE)(depends on if you have a support person)Oversee/Take care of Ship Verification daily (depends on if there is a night crew)Take care of Open Orders ReportTake care of Rejected Returns & Damaged ItemsTake care of Open/Active PO receiptsTake care of Stock Replenishment ReportTake care of Rack and Pallet Returns ReportEnsure the Cycle counts are done and reports are ran to ensure accuracyMaintain a POD filePreform daily walk-through's of the warehouse checking for cleanness and that everything is in its place

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORKING DEMANDS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 poundsAbility to stand/bend/walk for long periods of time

Regional Distribution Manager and Director of Distribution
