JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Practice Leader - AI Data Centers is a senior delivery leadership role responsible for supporting the successful execution of client engagements across Apex's AI Data Center portfolio within the Cloud & Infrastructure Capability. In this role, you will drive engagement excellence, deepen client relationships, and foster a high-performance delivery culture. As Practice Leader, you will serve as a hands-on delivery leader partnering across internal teams, account leadership, solution teams, and business units. You will lead and mentor internal practice teams to ensure all engagements are in alignment with defined pre-sales objectives and goals, statements of work (SOW) and to the highest quality and standards.

The Practice Leaderr plays a critical role in influencing client satisfaction, improving delivery consistency, and supporting growth within the AI Data Center practice.

As a consulting position, the work location for this role varies according to client needs. Accordingly, this is not a remote position. While some assignments may be performed largely remotely, other assignments require fully on-site work, hybrid work, and/or travel.

Delivery Leadership & Execution Excellence
  • Execute delivery plans for multiple AI Data Center deployments, ensuring alignment to client expectations, project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
Oversee key phases of the project lifecycle—from scoping and estimation through delivery, acceptance, and post-implementation support. Responsible for building practice maturity, establishing and continuously improving repeatable delivery methodologies, frameworks, accelerators, assets and governance processes.

Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, execution and continuous improvement.

Client Engagement & SatisfactionServe as a senior delivery point of contact for key large scale client engagements, ensuring proactive communication, risk management, and issue resolution.

Partner with the sales and solution leadership teams to inform solution approaches during pre-sales.

Maintain high client satisfaction and long-term relationships through consistent delivery execution, quality, and responsiveness.

Operational & Financial ManagementSupport revenue, margin, and profitability goals by helping manage engagement team structure, project financials, resource alignment, and delivery quality.

Manage resource planning and utilization strategies to maximize efficiency and talent engagement.

Responsible for managing delivery capacity based on customer delivery obligations. Team Leadership & Talent DevelopmentGrow, Lead, mentor, manage and develop delivery leadership team members (including operations managers, managing consultants, solution architects, and other delivery resourcesGrow Practice depth by attracting and retaining top consulting and technical talent, building a high-performing, collaborative culture.

Drive professional development to advance delivery skills and domain expertise by supporting the creation of internal accelerators, assets, and proof-of-concept (POC) demos. Risk & Quality ManagementIdentify delivery risks early and implement mitigation strategies.

Ensure compliance with contractual commitments, security, and regulatory requirements.

Drive the creation and maintenance of delivery artifacts that support and maintain best practices, standardization, and consistency in delivery.

Oversee quality assurance processes to uphold the firm's standards across all projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.15+ years of experience in technology consulting or systems integration, with at least 8 years in delivery leadership.

Proven track record of leading large, complex, multi-million-dollar technology projects and programs across AI data center build out, expansion, retrofit and traditional infrastructure domains.

Deep technical experience overseeing delivery for complex large-scale projects in support of scaling AI infrastructureExperience leading the growth and maturity of scaled service delivery - including supporting delivery methodologies, frameworks, governance processes, standardization, repeatability, and continuous improvement.

Demonstrated ability to align practice offerings, delivery standards, and go-to-market strategies with major hyperscale customers. Experience in delivering AI infrastructure projects for hyperscaler customers preferred. Experience managing or supporting project financials, forecasts, utilization, profitability, and operational efficiency within a consulting or professional services environment. Strong operational judgment with the ability to translate project objectives into clear execution plans Strong client relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, including comfort interacting with senior client and internal leadersExceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Financial acumen to support budgets, forecasts, resource planning, and profitability targets.

This position requires comfort working in active construction and data center environments.

Candidates should be prepared to work extended hours when necessary to meet project milestones, schedules, and business needs.

Expected travel up to 50%Nice to have Experience with hyperscaler operational processes in AI data center domains.
  • Experience supporting large, distributed technical teams across multiple U.S. regions
  • Experience supporting large-scale data center deployment, infrastructure buildout, expansion, retrofit, or modernization programs.
  • Familiarity with operational standards, governance, documentation, testing, and readiness activities tied to complex data center environments.
  • Experience supporting distributed technical teams across multiple regions or deployment sites.
  • Flexibility to relocate and support major project initiatives across various geographies is highly desirable.
