Logistics Delivery Supervisor

Logistics Delivery Supervisor DALY Computers is a system integrator, solution provider, value added reseller, and major service provider focused on serving the IT infrastructure needs of state and local governments and education customers. We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and highly motivated Logistics Delivery Supervisor to join our team. This position will manage a group of drivers and ensure efficient daily delivery operations. The role is based out of our Frederick headquarters. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday schedule from 6:30AM to 3:30PM or as needed. All candidates must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug test screening. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, manage and monitor daily delivery schedules and shipment activities including overseeing that vehicles are safely and securely loaded and tracking delivery to their destination.
• Determine the size and scope of the product being delivered, the size of the vehicle needed, and the number of staff needed to perform the delivery, including long-term use of vehicles for special projects.
• Review packing-slips for accuracy and provide them to the driver according to delivery vehicle.
• Manage the team of drivers by ensuring drivers understand each load and service details for each trip. Details include the loading information, directions, routing, fuel and paperwork expectations.
• Manage safety expectations including pre-trip inspections, following distance, and route conditions including accident resolution.
• Ensure a safe work environment by continuously improving processes, including organizing the logistics area for outbound products, staging items for delivery, and keeping the shipping side of the loading dock clean, orderly, and free of debris.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and actively provide the training and coaching needed.
• Maintain vehicles and assigned equipment through established preventive maintenance and repair programs in coordination with Fleet Manager as reported by drivers.
• Communicate with internal teams for accurate order information and any changes that may impact customer service.
• Responds timely to internal and external requests, issues and inquires.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of supervisory experience. Logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience preferred. Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills. Ability to manage schedules, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Adobe Acrobat.
• Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment, including occasional extended hours.
