Warehouse Manager Value Carpet One Salisbury, Maryland Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Compensation:
$20-$26 per hour, depending on experience About Us Value Carpet One is a family-owned flooring company that has served Salisbury and the surrounding Delmarva area for more than 50 years. We provide residential and commercial flooring materials and installation services throughout the region. We are seeking a dependable and highly organized Warehouse Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day warehouse operations. This is a hands-on position responsible for receiving materials, maintaining accurate inventory, organizing warehouse space, preparing jobs, and ensuring our installation crews and customers receive the correct materials each day. The ideal candidate takes pride in running a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy. Schedule Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. One-hour lunch break Approximately 40 hours per week Additional overtime opportunities available based on business needs Primary Responsibilities Receive flooring materials, supplies, and equipment from vendors and freight carriers. Inspect incoming materials for damage and verify quantities, product descriptions, colors, sizes, and other details against purchase orders and receiving documents. Accurately receive materials in the company's ERP system and report any damage, shortages, or discrepancies. Label, tag, and store materials according to the appropriate customer, job, purchase order, or stock location. Maintain an organized system for storing carpet, flooring cartons, pallets, sundries, tools, and other warehouse materials. Manage inventory through regular cycle counts, accurate tracking of stock usage and returns, and investigation of discrepancies. Pick, verify, and stage materials for upcoming jobs based on installation schedules and picking tickets. Safely and efficiently load installation vehicles using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other appropriate equipment. Document substitutions, shortages, returns, additions, and other changes made during the picking and loading process. Coordinate with installers, project managers, sales personnel, and office staff to resolve material and scheduling questions. Process and organize unused materials returned from completed jobs. Coordinate customer pickups, obtain required documentation, and safely load customer vehicles while protecting the vehicle and materials from damage. Make efficient use of warehouse space while maintaining a clean, safe, accessible, and code-compliant work area. Identify damaged, misplaced, obsolete, or unidentified materials and work with management to resolve them. Monitor warehouse equipment, report maintenance or safety concerns, and follow applicable material-handling and workplace-safety procedures. Perform other warehouse and material-handling duties as needed. Required Qualifications At least two years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory control, material handling, or a related role. Experience safely operating a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move heavy flooring materials, tools, and supplies throughout the workday. Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail. A genuine desire to maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Ability to accurately compare products and quantities against purchase orders, packing slips, and picking tickets. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to remain composed and focused when schedules change or time-sensitive requests arise. Willingness and ability to use computers, tablets, scanners, and other technology to complete warehouse tasks. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to communicate professionally and work cooperatively with installers, vendors, and other employees. Ability to provide courteous, efficient service to customers during material pickups. Preferred Qualifications Experience with warehouse, inventory, logistics, or ERP software. Previous responsibility for cycle counts or inventory reconciliation. Experience receiving and handling flooring, construction materials, building products, or similarly heavy and damage-sensitive products. Forklift certification or documented forklift training. Experience organizing materials by customer, job, purchase order, or installation date.
