Job Description

Yard & Inventory Manager - Landscape Company (Detroit, MI) A well-established landscape company in the Detroit area is seeking a Yard & Inventory Manager to oversee the organization, maintenance, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment for our crews. This role is vital to keeping operations running efficiently and ensuring our teams have what they need to succeed each day.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and organize yard, warehouse, and inventory of landscape materials and supplies Track incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accurate counts and proper storage Load and unload materials and equipment for crews, ensuring readiness for scheduled jobs Purchase, pick up, and deliver materials as needed, including transporting materials to and from active job sites and suppliers Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment and tools Operate landscape equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently Coordinate deliveries and pickups with suppliers and subcontractors Keep yard clean, safe, and compliant with company safety standards Assist with mechanical repairs and maintenance of trucks, trailers, and small equipment as needed
Requirements:
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience operating landscape and construction equipment (skid steers, forklifts, etc.) Chauffeur's license required; CDL-A is a plus Basic mechanical skills preferred; ability to perform equipment and vehicle repairs is a plus Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Schedule & Compensation:
Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays during peak season Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for advancement within the company How to
