The food club is a nonprofit grocery store where members find healthy options at affordable prices. It's an innovative approach to food security that prioritizes choice, participation and access to healthy foods. Members pay a low monthly fee, shop with points and choose from plenty of fresh, quality foods.

Logistics & Distribution Lead:
Coordinates the complex "push-pull" of food donations, getting food off donor trucks and onto store shelves or into regional delivery vehicles.
Operational Continuity:
Ensures the warehouse is organized and the retail floor is fully stocked to meet the needs of the community.
Donor Relations Liaison:
Acts as the professional face of the organization during pickups, maintaining positive relationships with grocery partners, farmers, and distributors and volunteers.
Food Safety Compliance:
Serves as the primary authority on food safety, specifically regarding the "Best By" and "Use By" protocols for donated items.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Donation & Logistics Management Pickup Coordination:
Schedules and dispatches drivers (or personally handles pickups) for donated goods from local retailers and food banks.
Delivery Logistics:
Manages the schedule for outbound deliveries to homebound members or partner locations.
Fleet Management:
Oversees the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety inspections of organization vehicles.
Donation Processing:
Directs the sorting, weighing, and labeling of all incoming donations to track the "poundage" for grant reporting.
Warehouse & Retail Operations Inventory & Merchandising:
Manages stock rotation (FEFO - First Expired, First Out) and designs store displays to ensure a dignified shopping experience.
Warehouse Safety:
Enforces OSHA and health department standards; maintains organized cold and dry storage areas.
Staff & Volunteer Supervision:
Trains and manages a team of warehouse assistants and volunteers in safe food handling and heavy lifting techniques.
Data Tracking:
Records all incoming and outgoing inventory in a management system to analyze community demand and program impact.
Position Requirements:
Experience:
1+ years in warehouse, grocery, or food bank management. Experience specifically with food rescue or donated logistics is highly preferred.
Education:
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Inventory Management Software and route-optimization tools.
Licenses & Certifications:
ServSafe Food Manager certification (essential for handling donations). Valid Driver's License with a clean record (Commercial Driver's License/CDL preferred). Forklift Operator certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 75 lbs repeatedly and work in various environments (walk-in freezers, loading docks, and retail floors).
Compensation and Details:
This is a part-time, hourly position. We offer support for professional development and a driven, highly collaborative, supportive work environment.
Schedule:
Mainly mornings and afternoons with rotating Saturdays. Evenings could be occasional.
