Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Discover a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, providing vital support to young learners in an engaging school environment near Saginaw, MI. We're seeking two dedicated professionals to join a collaborative team for a contract position serving students in kindergarten through second grade. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact with a manageable caseload, focusing on small group instruction.
Position Details:
Contract duration: August 11, 2026 - June 4, 2027 Weekly schedule: 37.5 hours
Caseload:
Up to 8 students in K-2
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience working with early elementary age children (K-2 preferred) Familiarity with creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt materials and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs Passion for supporting student growth in a nurturing, inclusive classroom
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with special needs Develop and implement appropriate lesson plans, accommodations, and modifications Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and families to support student success Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in alignment with IEP goals Foster a positive, supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement Actively participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions You'll work in an environment that values teamwork, innovative teaching, and the professional growth of its staff.
