Log Yard Manager

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and organized Log Yard Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our log yard and timber inventory. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement, storage, and inventory of logs and processed wood products, ensuring safety, accuracy, and productivity. Responsibilities Supervise daily yard activities, including the organization, stacking, and movement of logs Coordinate with procurement and manufacturing Maintain accurate inventory records utilizing warehouse management systems and computerized logs Ensure safety protocols are followed rigorously by all yard personnel; conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions Operate machinery such as forklifts, cranes, or other equipment safely to load, unload, and transport materials within the yard Oversee the maintenance of yard equipment, tools, and facilities to ensure optimal functionality Requirements Proven experience in warehouse management or yard supervision within manufacturing, construction, or woodworking environments Strong knowledge of operating forklifts, power tools, hand tools, calipers, and other equipment used in log yards or manufacturing settings Ability to read technical drawings and specifications related to woodworking or millwork projects Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and safety procedures Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and operate machinery safely throughout shifts Join us as a Log Yard Manager where your energy-driven leadership will keep operations running smoothly!
