OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced yard manager to manage our hardwood lumber inventory and oversee dry production processes including but not limited to dry kiln operation and management, boiler operation and maintenance, load assembly, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a sawmill or lumber yard environment, will have experience in shipping/inventory management and will be willing and able to hire, terminate, and train current and future employees. DUTIES Managing lumber yard operations on a daily basis Maintaining a clean, organized and efficient inventory on the yard at all times Adhering to company and industry standards for all kiln operations Monitoring and maintaining two wood-fired boilers on a regular basis Managing lumber yard employees to ensure that everyone is working in a productive, safe, and efficient manner Operating forklifts/loaders on a daily basis Perform basic math and exhibit critical thinking skills while putting loads together Ensuring that purchase orders are followed correctly when assembling orders Maintaining records for air permits, kiln operations, etc. on a regular basis

REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience operating a forklift Proven experience managing multiple employees Experience in a sawmill or lumber yard environment is preferred Reliable transportation Experience in dry kiln/boiler operations is preferred
