Since 2006, we have built our business around reliability, strong customer service, and long-term relationships. As we continue to grow, we are expanding into warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, and third-party logistics services. We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to help launch, manage, and grow our new 3PL operation. This is not a basic warehouse management position. We need someone with hands-on experience in 3PL operations, warehouse systems, customer onboarding, pricing, labor management, and business development. The right candidate will help build the operational foundation of this new division and work directly with company ownership. Position Overview The Warehouse Manager will lead the setup and daily operation of our warehouse and 3PL division. This person will oversee receiving, shipping, storage, inventory control, fulfillment, cross-docking, staffing, safety, and customer service. The Warehouse Manager will also support business growth by assisting with pricing, customer proposals, onboarding, and the development of warehouse solutions for current and prospective customers. Key Responsibilities Lead the launch, setup, and daily operation of the warehouse and 3PL division. Develop warehouse procedures, workflows, SOPs, and operating standards. Manage receiving, shipping, storage, inventory control, fulfillment, cross-docking, dock operations, and customer orders. Implement and manage WMS platforms, reporting tools, and operational dashboards. Track and improve warehouse KPIs, including inventory accuracy, order accuracy, dock-to-stock time, pick rates, labor productivity, safety, and customer service. Hire, train, schedule, and supervise warehouse leads, associates, and other operational staff as the division grows. Manage staffing levels, labor costs, productivity, operating expenses, and warehouse profitability. Work directly with ownership on storage rates, handling fees, accessorial charges, labor pricing, customer agreements, and service proposals. Assist in identifying, pursuing, and onboarding new warehouse and 3PL customers. Build and maintain strong relationships with warehouse and logistics clients. Help develop warehouse solutions for existing and prospective customers. Coordinate with Z Transportation's trucking operation to provide combined transportation, warehousing, and distribution services. Manage inventory counts, customer reporting, claims, service issues, and process improvements. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and compliant warehouse operation. Build the staffing, systems, and operational structure needed for long-term growth. Qualifications At least five years of warehouse management experience required. Ten or more years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, fulfillment, or 3PL experience preferred. Strong 3PL or multi-client warehouse experience is highly preferred. Experience launching, scaling, or improving a warehouse or distribution operation is a major plus. Strong experience using and managing WMS platforms is required. Experience with warehouse pricing, storage billing, handling fees, accessorial charges, labor costing, and operational profitability preferred. Experience with customer onboarding, client relationships, service proposals, and business development preferred. Experience managing KPIs, P&L performance, labor costs, productivity, inventory accuracy, and customer service. Proven experience leading warehouse supervisors, team leads, associates, and operational staff. Strong knowledge of receiving, shipping, inventory control, fulfillment, cross-docking, dock operations, storage, and distribution. Ability to work directly with ownership and help build a new business division. Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Transportation or trucking experience is a plus, but warehouse and 3PL experience are the priority. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has helped build, manage, or scale a warehouse, distribution center, fulfillment center, or 3PL operation. We are especially interested in candidates with experience at companies such as DHL, GXO, XPO, Ryder, Penske, Kuehne+Nagel, Geodis, NFI, Maersk, Saddle Creek, Kenco, CJ Logistics, FedEx Supply Chain, UPS Supply Chain Solutions, CEVA, DSV, Stord, ShipBob, or similar logistics and 3PL companies. Practical 3PL experience matters more to us than years alone. The right candidate should understand warehouse operations, customer relationships, pricing, labor management, systems, and profitability. Compensation Base salary of $80,000-$100,000 per year, based on experience. Performance-based bonus of 15%-30%. Final compensation will depend on leadership experience, 3PL background, operational knowledge, and the ability to help grow the warehouse business. Schedule Full-time leadership position.
