Warehouse Operations Manager - Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Location: Brockport, NY
Full-Time | Salaried Management Position Are you an experienced warehouse or operations professional who enjoys being hands-on while leading people, inventory, equipment, and logistics? We are seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager - Shipping, Receiving & Inventory to oversee key warehouse and distribution functions for a well-established organization in Brockport, NY.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role responsible for keeping people, inventory, equipment, and transportation moving safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate brings experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory control, logistics, equipment, and workforce leadership and is comfortable working alongside the team when needed. What You'll Do
Lead the Team
Supervise, schedule, and provide day-to-day direction to warehouse and hourly employees.
Train and coach employees on safety, inventory procedures, material handling, quality, and operating standards.
Assign daily workloads and ensure shipping, receiving, and inventory priorities are completed on schedule.
Create an organized, productive work environment focused on safety, accuracy, accountability, and teamwork.
Oversee Warehouse & Inventory Operations
Manage day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory movement, picking, packing, staging, and order fulfillment.
Oversee inventory receiving, tracking, cycle counts, reconciliation, and reporting.
Maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse and inventory management systems.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Maintain organized storage locations and ensure materials and products are properly identified and accounted for.
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, material flow, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
Manage Shipping, Receiving & Logistics
Oversee shipping and receiving activities from start to finish.
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, truck scheduling, loading, unloading, and transportation.
Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and proper documentation.
Work with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve shipping or delivery issues.
Ensure materials and products are handled, stored, and transported according to company standards.
Coordinate logistics during periods of increased volume and changing operational demands.
Keep Equipment & Operations Moving
Oversee the safe and efficient use of warehouse and material-handling equipment.
Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs and assist with troubleshooting operational issues.
Ensure forklifts, pallet jacks, loading equipment, and other warehouse equipment are available and ready for use.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment utilization, warehouse flow, and overall efficiency.
Drive Continuous Improvement
Partner with leadership to improve logistics, inventory accuracy, warehouse workflow, safety, and operational performance.
Use inventory reports, productivity measures, and operational data to identify issues and recommend solutions.
Develop and improve processes to reduce errors, delays, excess handling, and inventory discrepancies.
Help create efficient processes that can adapt to changing customer needs, shipment volumes, and business demands.
What We're Looking For
3-5+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, inventory, or operations experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping and receiving, material handling, and logistics.
Experience managing and developing hourly warehouse employees.
Experience with inventory management, ERP, WMS, or related systems.
Familiarity with forklifts, pallet jacks, loading equipment, and other warehouse/material-handling equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot workflow, inventory, equipment, and operational issues.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced operation.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational accuracy.
Valid driver's license required.
CDL-A preferred or willingness to obtain.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
Work Environment This is an active, hands-on warehouse leadership position. The role requires regular time on the warehouse floor, working around forklifts, trucks, loading areas, and material-handling equipment. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be required. Flexibility to work extended hours, including occasional weekends or holidays, may be necessary during periods of increased shipping or operational volume. Why Consider This Opportunity?
