We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations at our scrap metal facility in Upstate New York. This role is responsible for managing inventory flow, supervising staff, ensuring safety compliance, and optimizing operational efficiency in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of warehouse logistics, and experience in recycling or heavy materials handling.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all warehouse operations including receiving, sorting, processing, storage, and shipping of scrap metal materials Supervise, train, and schedule warehouse staff to ensure productivity and safety standards are met Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate material movement to maximize efficiency Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations Monitor equipment usage and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed Implement and enforce company policies and standard operating procedures Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and transportation teams to meet business objectives Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of warehouse management experience (scrap metal or recycling industry preferred) Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory systems Experience managing teams in an industrial or labor-intensive environment Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices Ability to operate or oversee operation of heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, loaders) Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Proficient in basic computer systems and inventory software
