We are hiring a hands-on Warehouse Manager to join our team in Syracuse. We are a small operation so you will be a "do-it-all" type of person. Whether it's performing equipment maintenance, warehouse operations, inventory management, forklift operation, loading and unloading materials, driving construction materials to and from job sites, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment, you'll have your hands in everything. You'll build process and tracking for the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
Perform equipment and small engine maintenance (i.e., cutters, generators, blowers, etc.) Rig, secure, and drive construction materials to and from job sites Build and maintain inventory control processes for roofing materials, tools, and equipment Utilize the computer daily for warehouse operations Operate forklifts and move materials and equipment within the yard and warehouse Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment and techniques Stage materials for upcoming roofing jobs Perform general maintenance tasks to keep the yard and warehouse clean and organized Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including OSHA regulations As the only warehouse employee and manager, other responsibilities as needed or assigned to support warehouse and business operations
Requirements:
Must have Driver's License and possess or be able to acquire Department of Transportation Medical card which will require physical and drug testing 4+ years' experience with equipment and small engine maintenance (i.e., carbonator cleaning, sparkplugs, oil changes) Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures Experience delivering construction or similar materials Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office apps) Strong drive, initiative, and reliability - you're the only warehouse person Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks Ability to safely lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members Must be able to work in environmental factors that include noise, dust, hot weather, and cold weather; indoors and frequently outside Ability to lift 50+ pounds Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and gangways on a frequent basis and be able to work while standing on a continuous basis. Ability to safely work aloft (heights over 20') including ladders, man lifts, harnesses, equipment tops and scaffolding Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
