A Warehouse Manager manages warehouse storage of inventory or supplies for a company. Maintains records of inventory and supplies; oversees distribution from storage out to customers, retail distributors or other company facilities.
Purpose of this role: Anderson Pro Painting runs multiple crews across multiple jobs simultaneously. The Shop Manager is the person who makes sure every crew leaves the shop fully equipped and every piece of equipment comes back. You own the warehouse, the fleet, the tools, and the supplies. When a crew lead shows up for a job, everything they need is already staged. When a van needs an oil change, you've already scheduled it. When a new painter starts, their kit is already ready. This role sits at the center of our operations — not in the background. You will work directly with Project Managers and Crew Leaders every day and coordinate with the Operations Manager on staging, scheduling, and supply levels.
Core responsibilities:
Equipment & tool management Maintain a complete sign-out system for all major equipment — ladders, sprayers, scaffolding, pivot jacks, planks, extension wands, spray shields, generators, and laser levels Know where every piece of equipment is at all times and who has it Ensure all equipment returns to the shop after each job and is inspected before the next deployment Coordinate with Project Managers during tee-up so equipment is staged and confirmed available before day one of every job Flag damaged, missing, or end-of-life equipment to the Operations Manager with a repair or replace recommendation Manage vendor relationships for equipment repair up to the $300 independent purchasing threshold Fleet management Own all scheduled maintenance for the company fleet — oil changes, tire rotations, inspections, brake service, and seasonal prep Maintain vehicle registration and insurance documentation — current tabs, stickers, and proof of insurance in every van at all times Coordinate vehicle repairs and manage the repair vendor relationship Initiate and document vehicle incident reports — dents, windshields, accidents — and coordinate insurance claims with the CFO Conduct monthly van cleanliness inspections and document results — report non-compliance to the Operations Manager Maintain a fleet maintenance log for every vehicle with service history and upcoming scheduled needs Materials & job staging Work with Project Managers during job tee-up to confirm all materials and equipment are pulled, staged, and ready for day one Ensure materials are set out in the warehouse for crew leader pickup — not discovered missing on the job site Manage sundry inventory — track consumption, flag depletion, and purchase replenishment within purchasing authority Maintain a backlog of consumable supplies so the shop never runs dry between purchase cycles Coordinate material deliveries when direct job site delivery is required New hire readiness Maintain a fully stocked new hire kit at all times — respirators, PPE, tools, and apparel ready to issue on day one Issue and document all equipment and apparel issued to new hires at onboarding Collect and document all company equipment from departing employees — tools, apparel, and vehicles Maintain safety supply inventory across the fleet — first aid kits, eye wash, PPE stock — and replace as consumed Apparel & uniforms Manage and document all apparel issuance — who received what, in what size, and when Maintain apparel inventory levels and coordinate reorder with the Operations Manager before stock runs low Track apparel returns when employees leave Shop operations Keep the shop and warehouse clean, organized, and safe at all times — this is a standard, not a preference Maintain an organized storage system for all equipment categories — labeled, accessible, and consistent Conduct a monthly shop audit — equipment account, inventory levels, fleet status — and report results to the Operations Manager Own seasonal equipment preparation — winterizing before off-season, readiness checks before spring ramp-up Paint and stain wood trim as needed.
What we need from you:
Organized by nature — you build systems because chaos bothers you, not because someone asked Mechanically comfortable — you understand vehicle maintenance, know when something needs attention, and can communicate with service vendors Proactive communicator — you tell the PM that equipment is short before they ask, not after they arrive on site Ownership mentality — the shop is yours. You treat it that way. Comfortable with basic documentation — sign-out logs, purchase records, inspection reports. Excel or paper, whichever works. Reliable — when a crew leaves at 6am, everything is already staged. That means you were ready before they arrived.
