General Manager, CSR Marine South Location:

Full-Time, Salaried (Exempt) About the Role We are seeking a General Manager to lead the daily activities of our boatyard, CSR Marine South. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a team of 10 technicians and ensuring the highest quality of service for our clients' vessels. The ideal candidate possesses a deep technical understanding of recreational vessels and marine systems, paired with the administrative ability to keep the yard running profitably and on schedule.

Job Responsibilities Team Leadership:

Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the daily workflow for a team of 10 boatyard technicians and office staff.

Operational Management:

Utilize boatyard management software to track work orders, inventory, and labor hours. Ensure profitability of operations.

Quality Control:

Oversee repairs, ensuring all work meets or exceeds industry standards. Inspect all finished projects for quality and safety.

Client Relations:

Provide accurate technical estimates for engine work and refinishing projects; act as the primary point of contact for vessel owners.

Safety:

Hold weekly safety meetings, ensure safety committee is functioning properly, and boatyard is complying with OSHA and WISHA regulations.

Environmental:

Ensure proper operation of stormwater treatment systems. Ensure boatyard is meeting environmental benchmarks.

Technical Qualifications Software Proficiency:

Experience with Dockmaster or similar marine-specific management software is required to manage work orders and yard logistics.

Coatings Expertise:

Extensive experience with marine bottom and topside coatings systems, specifically with high-end systems like Awlgrip.

Mechanical Expertise:

Strong technical knowledge of both gas and diesel marine engines. Candidates must be able to diagnose issues and supervise complex mechanical repairs and repowers.

Industry Experience:

10+ years of experience in boatyard management or a senior service role within the marine industry. Schedule and Work Environment This is a full-time, exempt salaried position based on a 40-hour work week. Primary hours are 8AM-4PM, Monday through Friday. However, due to the seasonal nature of the marine industry, additional hours will be necessary during peak periods and as required to meet deadlines or business objectives. As the General Manager provides leadership for an on-site dynamic service operation, this position requires a fully in-person presence at our Des Moines facility. Remote work options are not available for this role. Benefits Salary begins at $92,000

• 115,000 per year, depending on experience.

Profit-based performance bonuses are available in addition to salary. Medical and dental insurance are available after 30 days. CSR pays 90% of the cost of your individual insurance, and you pay the other 10%. A spouse or dependent(s) can be added to your insurance, but the cost must be paid by you. You will also begin to accrue paid time off immediately, which will be available for use after 180 days of employment. CSR also offers 7 paid holidays per year. CSR Offers a Simple IRA retirement plan, with 3% employer-matching.
