Chemical Distribution Local Southern California Candidates Only About the Opportunity A rapidly growing chemical distribution company is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to partner closely with ownership and play a key role in driving long-term growth. This is a hands-on leadership position designed for someone who leads from the front, understands margins and profitability, and enjoys developing sales talent. You'll initially focus on mentoring and managing junior sales representatives while working directly with ownership to learn the business. Over time, this role offers the opportunity to assume broader leadership responsibility for the entire sales organization. Responsibilities Partner with ownership to learn the business, customers, and growth strategy. Coach, mentor, and manage junior sales representatives while promoting accountability and execution. Monitor gross profit performance and maintain strong margin discipline. Review pricing, deal structures, and profitability with a GP-focused approach. Drive territory growth and strengthen customer relationships. Support hiring, onboarding, and development of future sales talent. Analyze sales performance, pipeline activity, and market trends. Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and leadership teams. Grow into broader sales leadership responsibilities over time. QualificationsRequired 5-10 years of chemical distribution sales experience . Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing sales teams. Strong understanding of gross profit, margins, and profitability. Proven success building customer relationships and closing business. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Must currently reside in Chino, CA or the Southern California area . Preferred Experience leading both senior and junior sales teams. Existing relationships within industrial, manufacturing, chemical, or distribution markets. Experience managing incentive-based sales organizations.
