Summerville, SC Job Details $85,000 - $95,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Lifting equipment Forklift Warehouse experience Full Job Description Position Summary The Assistant Manager supports the Distribution Center Manager in overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations across inbound, outbound, and inventory functions. This role is responsible for executing operational strategies, leading Warehouse Supervisors, and ensuring high performance in safety, service, and productivity. This role acts as a key operational leader focused on driving consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all shift activities. Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership Oversee daily DC operations including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control Ensure execution of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all functional areas Partner with the DC Manager to manage labor planning and staffing levels based on volume Monitor workflows and remove operational bottlenecks People Leadership Directly manage Warehouse Supervisors and hold them accountable to performance expectations Support hiring, onboarding, and development of supervisors and hourly staff Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and teamwork Performance & Metrics Drive key

Order accuracy On-time shipping & receiving Inventory accuracy Labor productivity Analyze performance data and implement corrective action plans Support DC Manager in meeting financial and operational targets Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA and company safety standards at all times Lead safety initiatives and ensure a clean, organized work environment Ensure proper operation and maintenance of MHE equipment Process Improvement Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives Standardize processes across shifts and departments Partner with cross-functional teams (transportation, customer service, corporate) to resolve issues Communication & Coordination Lead daily stand-up meetings with Warehouse Supervisors Communicate priorities, changes, and performance expectations clearly Escalate operational risks or issues proactively to DC leadership Experience 5+ years of warehouse/distribution experience 2-3+ years of leadership experience managing supervisors or leads Experience in high-volume or large-scale distribution centers preferred Forklift experience and ability for certification Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team development skills Proven ability to drive operational performance and accountability Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Excellent communication and organizational skills Experience with WMS, TMS, and RF systems Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience) Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly Work performed in warehouse and office environments Exposure to varying temperatures and equipment operation What This Role Owns Day to day managerial operations and warehouse floor leadership Act as a strong back up to Operation Manager Execution of daily operations Supervisor accountability KPI performance Process consistency across shifts/scheduling
