Each brand is a leader in the Hispanic Industry and is well known to our Hispanic shoppers in the U.S. We are currently seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to join our growing team in the Mesquite, Texas area . Summary Directs warehousing activities improving and implementing all the procedures for the daily warehouse operation, in compliance with the OSHA and Safety Company policies including the anti-smuggling and CT-PAT Programs, SQF, for the warehouse by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervision of warehouse personnel to ensure compliance with Company policies, safety regulations, processes, and accepted operating norms. Plans together with the Warehouse supervisor, the best layout for the warehouse and other storage areas for the most efficient use of space, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors to the daily operations & items stored. Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Verifies that all the merchandise sent has information about shelf-life, and expiration date. Responsible for all secondary packaging (pallets, stretch film, etc.) of the items shipped from our warehouse. Responsible for the proper shipping methods for loads leaving from our warehouse. (Panels, airbags, blankets, accommodation etc.) Ensures inventory accuracy Controls warehouse expenses in conjunction with the Warehouse supervisor. Inspects physical condition of warehouse building and equipment. Responsible for ensuring the well-functioning of video surveillance monitoring with the Warehouse Manager, & Records, keeps control and records of the security seals and compliant all the requirements requested for the BASC and CT-PAT Programs Prepares the annual maintenance program & Control on the forklifts and any other maintenance related inquires. Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing. Directs salvage of damaged or used material. Controls of items detained by the FDA or Customs. Participates in planning personnel safety and emergency plan & protection activities, in accordance to the OSHA regulations. Supports the traffic department to coordinate the loads. Coordinates the physical inventories and requested audits and ensures product turnover. Supervises all the actions to ensure that all orders sent and received are correct and accurate. Directly responsible for the physical product integrity, safeguard and inventory accuracy and shortage detection. Completes any other project required by management. Maintains continuously information with the vendors and customers about the packaging quality Supervises all the actions for assure that all orders from POP and Samples has to be prepared and send on time Counsels employees in expected norms and behaviors consistent with Company policy and norms. Maintains metrics of critical processes and other items requiring specialized control. Participates in budget preparation. Participates actively with his/hers Participative Management Process Team. (Attending meetings, updating or creating indicators, suggestions, team presentations, etc.) Supervise alongside the warehouse supervisor the duties and responsibilities of the external security guards. Other duties as assigned Qualifications The candidate needs to be self-motivated, organized, and highly productive, with the ability to work well on a diverse and highly qualified team in a fast-paced work environment Excellent customer service skills, analytical abilities as well verbal and written communication skills in English. Education and Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum two to three years of solid, relevant warehousing and supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Employee is required to maintain safety training, improve computer knowledge and improve interpersonal communication skills by attending continuing education courses.
Language Ability:
Bilingual English/Spanish required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
