Role:
SBM Life Science operates a newly opened Distribution Center in Mont Belvieu, Texas. This DC is responsible for picking, packing, and delivering home and garden products to big-box retailers. This Distribution Center services the United States, receiving products from manufacturers, including our own Pasadena based factory, storing products and then ensuring these products are delivered on time, and as scheduled, to be sold to consumers. The Operations Manager will report directly to the Distribution Center, General manager, and is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing the daily activities of an assigned area of the Distribution Center, such as shipping, receiving, transportation planning.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, schedule, forecast and coordinate work to meet production standards, schedules and operational goals Oversee and analyze production and quality; , review operational reports, and analyze data, while initiating changes as needed, to ensure a high level of service to internal and external customers. Working independently, develop and implement plans, procedures, programs, and strategies to enhance performance, service level, and cost-per-piece Administer policies/procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Professionally address concerns with employees utilizing the proper resources Coach, mentor, develop and supervise staff, with an emphasis on team building, communication, performance accountability, while maintaining a positive attitude. Thrive in a fast-paced operation, with a keen ability to implement policies and programs while flexing as needed, for change. Ensure maximum utilization of workforce and equipment, utilizing reports, systems and strategies. Prepare departmental budget and control expenditures against approved budget
Experience:
5-7 years of warehouse or DC operations, with at least 3-5years in a supervisory role. 3-5 years of proven experience utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS);Blue Yonder preferred 3 plus years of proven skills utilizing Excel to create, review and download Excel reports; strong organizational and data analytics experience in a distribution center. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, working with a laptop, to include Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. Excellent verbal and written communication experience with strong skills in planning, scheduling and leading meetings. About the
