Shipping and Receiving Manager Enterprise Electrical - 2.5 San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time 21 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Safety regulations High school diploma or GED Driver's License Decision making Materials handling Freight Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory control operations to ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely movement of materials, equipment, tools, and supplies. This role supervises warehouse personnel, coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures. The Shipping and Receiving Manager plays a critical role in supporting operational efficiency by maintaining organized warehouse operations, optimizing material flow, and ensuring materials are received, stored, and distributed accurately to support business and project demands. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following: Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations including receiving, unloading, inspecting, storing, picking, staging, and shipping materials and equipment Supervise warehouse personnel and coordinate daily workflow assignments to ensure operational efficiency and timely processing of shipments Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, and shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness Coordinate outbound shipments with vendors, carriers, delivery services, and internal departments Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure inventory transactions are properly documented within inventory management or ERP systems Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material organization, storage, and replenishment activities Conduct inventory cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities to maintain inventory accuracy Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged shipments, inventory variances, and receiving issues Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and proper storage procedures are maintained Implement and enforce warehouse safety standards, material handling procedures, and OSHA compliance requirements Coordinate delivery schedules and material movement to support operational and project needs Assist with developing and improving warehouse procedures, inventory controls, and shipping processes Maintain communication with vendors, suppliers, operations teams, and field personnel regarding shipment status and material availability Monitor warehouse equipment and coordinate maintenance or repairs as necessary Prepare reports related to shipping activity, inventory status, receiving logs, and warehouse operations Support emergency operational needs and expedited shipping requests as business demands require Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling procedures Understanding of inventory management systems, shipping documentation, and freight coordination processes Knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety practices Strong leadership and employee supervision skills Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory and shipment records Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate across departments and vendors Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience utilizing ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), or inventory tracking software preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment with changing priorities and deadlines Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises shipping, receiving, warehouse, and material handling personnel including daily workflow coordination and task assignments Provides employee training, coaching, performance feedback, and operational support to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with company procedures Enforces warehouse procedures, inventory controls, and safety standards to support efficient and compliant warehouse operations Work Environment/Physical Demands/Position Type and Expected Work Time Work Environment Work is performed primarily in warehouse, shipping, receiving, and operational environments Regular exposure to warehouse equipment, loading docks, moving machinery, and material handling activities Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and outdoor conditions depending on warehouse operations Frequent interaction with vendors, delivery personnel, suppliers, and operational teams May require occasional travel between warehouse locations or operational facilities Physical Requirements This role requires the physical and environmental demands outlined below, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout warehouse and operational facilities Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and movement throughout warehouse operations Ability to safely work around forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment Ability to use computers, scanners, tablets, and inventory systems for extended periods Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety footwear, gloves, safety glasses, and high-visibility apparel as requiredPosition Type:
Full-time, non-exempt Typical Schedule /Shift Details:
Typically works Monday through Friday during standard warehouse and operational business hours May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or extended hours based on shipping schedules, inventory activities, and operational demands Schedule flexibility may be required to support business and project needsOvertime Expectations:
Additional hours may be required based on shipping demands, inventory activities, operational priorities, or business needs Overtime may be necessary during peak operational periods, inventory audits, or urgent shipment coordinationRequired Education and Experience Education:
High school diploma or GED required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred Equivalent combination of education and warehouse operations experience may be consideredCertifications/Licenses:
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred OSHA safety training or warehouse safety certifications preferredExperience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, or logistics environments Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in warehouse or shipping operations preferred Experience utilizing inventory management systems, ERP systems, or warehouse tracking software preferred Experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, or operational environments preferred Equipment or Machines Routinely Used in This Position Computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory tracking software Barcode scanners, shipping systems, and inventory scanning equipment Forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse material handling equipment Standard office equipment including printers, scanners, and copiers Shipping and freight coordination platforms and warehouse tracking systems Personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting job sites, including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, and work bootsSimilar jobs in San Antonio, TX
