Position Title:
Warehouse Manager Position Overview:
The Warehouse Manager oversees inventory, logistics, warehouse staff, and the safe, efficient storage and distribution of goods. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a focus on safety, productivity, and performance management. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, developing systems and metrics to evaluate team and individual performance, supporting employee development, and leading initiatives to improve overall efficiency and productivity.
Objectives & Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily activities of the warehouse to ensure smooth and efficient operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping/receiving, and stock control. Lead, train, and supervise a team of warehouse employees, providing direction and ensuring adherence to company policies, safety standards, and performance metrics. Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee the proper storage, labeling, and handling of all materials and products. Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and logistics, to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Manage shipping schedules, deliveries, and vendor relationships. Enforce safety procedures and ensure the warehouse complies with health and safety regulations. Maintain quality systems and improve programs to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements for dietary supplements and nutritional products (cGMP, GDP, 21 CFR 111, HACCP, FSMA, SQF, NSF, TGA, etc.). Continuously evaluate and improve warehouse processes and workflows to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and meet key performance indicators (KPIs). Generate and maintain reports related to inventory levels, order statuses, and warehouse operations. Oversee the proper maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery, ensuring they are in good working condition. Address and resolve issues related to inventory discrepancies, order delays, or equipment failures. Provide timely solutions to any operational challenges.
Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role. Prior experience in team leadership, inventory control, and logistics is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS), Order Fulfillment Systems, and the like. Whether it's spreadsheets that help manage inventory or more cutting-edge material handling systems integrators that specialize in warehouse automation and storage optimization solutions. In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety standards. Ability to analyze and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Forklift certification and experience. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in a warehouse setting with potential exposure to powder, machinery and heavy lifting. The role may require occasional evening or weekend work based on business needs. Ability to sit and stand for extended hours. Must be able to work around a variation of different smells and aromas. Other physical requirements include bi-lateral hand and wrist movement, and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting.
