Job Description

Supervises all daily operations of the warehouse facility Provides direction to volunteers and staff for food placement, storage and distribution Works with the Assistant Director to orient and train warehouse personnel and volunteers Supervises and completes performance evaluations for all warehouse employees Responsible for receiving, storing and distribution of all products; organizes products on shelving, in freezers and refrigerators in warehouse and stocks food for distribution Coordinates and performs product donation pick-ups; schedules and assigns volunteer drivers for donation pick-ups Receives, records and acknowledges product donations to warehouse Inventories

food for reporting to Feeding America and performs inventory of Malcom Huckabee Backpacks food and purchased/donated foods. Responsible for ordering food when needed for non-TEFAP food distribution and for Malcom Huckabee Backpacks; coordinates pick-ups or delivery; manages food budget and grant funds for food purchases. Insures all products are distributed before expiration date in monitoring first in/first out system on date-coded products Maintains freezers and refrigerators; defrosts and cleans freezers; monitors and records freezers for adequate temperature; prepares freezer temperature report for Feeding America Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of all warehouse equipment such as the generator, forklift, pallet jacks, baler, and hand trucks. Performs minor repairs and maintenance on building and warehouse equipment. Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all vehicles. Ensures all vehicles are inspected, have proper tags, regularly serviced, tires are rotated and replaced as needed. Researches and stays current on material handling, food safety, food recalls and OSHA regulations; trains and instructs warehouse volunteers and staff Complies with material handling, OSHA and food safety guidelines and enforces adherence to requirements advising management on needed actions Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe warehouse; keeps the loading dock and donation door area free of clutter and trash. Assists with local food drives and special events related to area of responsibility Consults and advises Director on building maintenance and repairs Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director Physical Demands and Work Environment Conducts work in an internal warehouse environment with hot and cold temperatures. Lifts up to 60 pounds repetitively, walking, standing, bending, climbing, stooping, twisting, pulling and pushing. Conducts work in an external environment with repetitive sitting and driving in various environmental conditions, operating heavy machinery in a standing and sitting position. Qualifications High School degree or GED, Associates degree preferred 3-5 years supervisory experience 3-5 years warehouse management experience Has valid Virginia driver's license and safe driving record Experience driving vans and large and small trucks Experience operating forklift and pallet jack Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (Work, Excel), email and internet applications Knowledge of OSHA regulations Safety management experience Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work with people of varying backgrounds and abilities Managing processes and reporting skills Positive, solution-oriented with good problem-solving skills Equipment maintenance ability Ability to occasionally work overtime or flex schedule for special events
