Full Job Description Job Summary:

This position is responsible for maximizing the efficiency of the receiving process, supervising the daily operations of receiving plants for the nursery, as well as ensuring inventory updates occur promptly with accuracy. Coordination and collaboration with various teams is essential for a smooth and efficient process. Essential Functions and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Meet weekly and/or bi-weekly with Location Manager to discuss the plant materials being bought or transferred and timing of those deliveries. Communicate weekly with other Flowerwood locations for the number of plants/trucks being transferred to Mobile. Meet weekly with Production & Growing Manager to discuss the planned locations to put down buy-in and transferred plant materials. Ensure bedspace is ready - plants consolidated, area treated, stringline in place, etc. Communicate first thing in the morning with Shipping concerning loads on the lot and what is expected to come in that day, delays, or early arrival of trucks. Inspect plant quality as plants are unloaded and report poor quality. Provide information to the Production & Growing Manager on unloading of plants for watering purposes. Update inbound plant material in Microsoft Teams, Buy-In App, and Tabs. Coordinate with the Shipping Manager on cross-docked material to be moved to the field. Motivate and train employees in quality guidelines required in the daily inspection of plant material received. Monitor, record, and post efficiency measures for number of people, number of trucks per day and ensure standard hours per truck is achieved. Other duties as required.

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience degree preferred, or an equivalent years' experience in Receiving Inventory. Previous experience managing or supervising employees. Competencies Strong understanding of receiving procedures. Strong leadership traits which include presentation and influencing skills. Solid knowledge of logistics procedures and experience using inventory software. Excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills; responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization. Excellent organizational/time management skills, prioritization, and multi-tasking abilities. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred. Physical Demands Occasionally lifts/pulls/carries up to 25 pounds. Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear, and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, or reach above the shoulders. Operate typical office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copy machine, etc. Regular mental demands such as comprehension, reasoning, decision making, and strong math skills.
