Overview The Receiving Manager oversees all hotel shipping, receiving, and inventory control operations to ensure the timely, accurate, and quality-driven flow of goods throughout the hotel. This role serves as a critical operational partner to hotel departments, ensuring compliance with hotel standards, vendor requirements, and operational efficiencies. The manager leads daily receiving activities, supervises staff, and drives continuous improvement across logistics and inventory processes.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all shipping and receiving operations for the hotel, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and adherence to hotel standards and established procedures. Oversee the receipt, inspection, verification, and documentation of all inbound goods, ensuring proper quantities, quality, and compliance with purchase orders and vendor agreements. Evaluate and monitor product quality and grade upon delivery; proactively resolve discrepancies, damages, or quality issues with vendors and internal stakeholders. Establish and enforce inventory control procedures, including tracking inbound and outbound goods, managing receiving logs, and supporting audits and reporting requirements Supervise, train, and coach shipping and receiving staff (where applicable), setting performance expectations, enforcing safety standards, and encouraging accountability. Maintain accurate records and utilize systems and tools to support inventory management, reporting, and continuous improvement. Perform any other job related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in receiving or inventory management. Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a hotel environment preferred. Must have knowledge of food, beverage, general and printing products and purchasing procedures. Basic mathematical and computer skills to order items and track deliveries. Ability to apply basic supervisory skills to plan, organize, direct, coach, train and discipline associates, as necessary. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
Compensation Salary Range:
