Pay:
Competitive pay based on experience Lead the Operation. Protect the Company. Build the Team. Speedy Cargo LLC is looking for a strong, hands-on Logistics Manager to work directly under ownership and help lead the full daily operation of our trucking company. This is not just a dispatch job. This is not just a scheduling job. This is a true leadership position for someone who can take ownership, manage drivers, solve problems, hold people accountable, and help keep the company moving in the right direction. The person in this role will be trusted to help run the operation across safety, performance, scheduling, dispatch coordination, driver management, recruiting support, communication, and daily execution. We are looking for a leader — not someone who waits to be told what to do. Our Priorities The Logistics Manager must lead the operation in this order: 1. Safety First 2. Performance Second 3. Scheduling and Work Execution Third Covering the work matters, but it cannot come before safety, driver accountability, and company performance. The goal is not just to fill seats. The goal is to run a safe, reliable, disciplined, and high-performing operation. About the Role The Logistics Manager will be responsible for helping manage the company's daily transportation operation from the ground level. This person will work directly with ownership and will be expected to understand what is happening in the operation, identify problems quickly, communicate clearly, and follow through until issues are resolved. The right candidate must be comfortable leading drivers, managing difficult conversations, making decisions under pressure, and holding the team to a high standard. This role requires strong leadership, strong follow-up, strong communication, and the ability to manage many moving parts at the same time. What This Role OwnsSafety Comes First Safety is the first priority in this position. The Logistics Manager is expected to help create and enforce a safety-first culture across the company. This means making sure drivers understand expectations, follow company procedures, communicate properly, and operate in a professional and responsible manner.
Responsibilities include:
Leading daily operations with safety as the top priority Monitoring driver behavior, communication, and safety concerns Making sure drivers complete required pre-trip and post-trip procedures properly Following up on DVIR issues, vehicle defects, equipment concerns, and maintenance-related items Coaching drivers on safe driving habits, trip planning, fatigue management, and professional conduct Following up on accidents, incidents, near misses, unsafe behavior, and driver concerns Documenting coaching, warnings, conversations, and corrective actions when needed Making sure unsafe decisions are not made just to cover work Working with ownership to reduce risk, prevent accidents, and protect the company A strong Logistics Manager does not treat safety as paperwork. Safety must be part of how the operation is managed every day. Performance Matters Every Day After safety, performance is the next priority. The Logistics Manager will help make sure the company is meeting operational standards, improving weak areas, and holding the team accountable.
Responsibilities include:
Monitoring daily and weekly operational performance Helping improve service quality, attendance, communication, and driver reliability Tracking repeated issues such as late starts, callouts, poor communication, rejected work, and failed procedures Identifying weak points in the operation and helping create solutions Holding drivers and staff accountable in a professional and consistent way Communicating performance concerns clearly to ownership Coaching drivers before small problems turn into major issues Helping protect the company's reputation with customers, partners, and drivers Making sure company standards are clearly understood and followed This position requires someone who can manage performance without excuses. Problems should be identified early, communicated clearly, and followed up on until they are fixed. Scheduling and Execution Must Be Done Correctly Scheduling and work execution are a major part of the role, but they must be handled with safety and performance in mind. The Logistics Manager must understand that scheduling is not just putting a name on a route. It is putting the right driver on the right work, making sure the driver is qualified, available, rested, reliable, and prepared to execute correctly.
Responsibilities include:
Building, reviewing, and managing driver schedules based on business needs Making sure scheduled work is covered with qualified and reliable drivers Coordinating with dispatch, drivers, and ownership regarding route coverage, callouts, delays, equipment problems, and last-minute changes Helping prevent rejected work, uncovered routes, missed loads, late starts, and avoidable service failures Supporting the operation during urgent issues, including staffing gaps, driver callouts, route changes, and equipment concerns Making sure schedules support safety, legal compliance, rest requirements, and operational performance Helping the company execute work correctly, not just quickly The right person must be organized, proactive, and able to stay calm when the schedule changes. Leadership Expectations This is one of the most important parts of the role. We are looking for someone who can become a strong leader inside the company. This person must be able to earn respect, communicate clearly, stay consistent, and hold people accountable without creating unnecessary drama. The Logistics Manager must be able to: Lead by example Make decisions with confidence Communicate clearly and professionally Stay calm under pressure Hold drivers accountable in a fair and consistent way Follow up without being reminded Take ownership of problems Push the operation forward Build trust with ownership, drivers, and staff Correct issues before they become bigger problems Balance firmness with professionalism We need someone who understands leadership is not just having a title. Leadership means taking responsibility, setting the tone, protecting the company, and making sure the team performs. Driver Management The Logistics Manager will be responsible for helping manage the driver team and making sure drivers understand expectations.
Responsibilities include:
Communicating with drivers about schedules, route changes, safety expectations, and company standards Managing attendance, callouts, tardiness, communication issues, and professionalism Supporting drivers with questions and concerns while still holding them accountable Addressing driver problems early before they affect the operation Helping improve driver retention through better communication, structure, and follow-up Making sure drivers are treated fairly but held to a high standard Helping create a professional, organized, and accountable driver culture The right candidate must be comfortable having direct conversations with drivers. Avoiding issues is not acceptable in this role. Recruiting, Hiring, and Onboarding Support This role may also support driver recruiting and onboarding as needed.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with CDL Class A driver recruiting Helping screen applicants and schedule interviews Communicating with candidates during the hiring process Supporting onboarding for new drivers Making sure new drivers understand company expectations, safety standards, communication rules, attendance requirements, and procedures Following up with new hires to help improve retention Helping ownership identify staffing needs before they become urgent problems Administrative and Business Support The Logistics Manager must also be able to handle the administrative side of the operation.
